Can anyone recommend a wine tasting itinerary for Paso Robles?

I’d like to spend three or four hours wine tasting at 3-5 wineries in Paso. If you can recommend affordable transportation for four people, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I can’t really help you with the transportation side of it because I’ve only visited Paso Robles and that was 2 1/2 years ago but I can give you some winery recommendations:

    Robert Hall Winery
    Firestone Winery
    Sylvester Winery

There are a couple of tourism groups in Paso Robles that are on Facebook as well and they may be able to give you some more suggestions, especially on the transportation side of things and even places to eat. Here’s a link to their websites:

Hope this helps and enjoy your time in Paso Robles

I can make some suggestions for you.

To start you absolutely have to stop at Turley. They are, at this point the most highly rated winery in Paso. I’m not a huge fan of the tasting room experience there(they try to sell everything that isn’t tied down) but there aren’t much better values in the wine world right now. They had, I believe, a couple 100 point scores from Parker this year which is extremely impressive in their price range.

Some lesser known names that I like include Alta Colina and Caliza. Specifically with Caliza check out their Syrah. It’s 16% alchohol which is crazy, but I think they are both up and comers.

    Tablas produces some great Rhones.

Justin is an old standby, call and check where their production is because they lost much of their fruit in a fire and frankly I don’t think they have been able to replicate quality since then, although still quite good, just not internationally good any more.

Feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Paso is a great area to wine taste, much like seeing Napa 50+ years ago.
